On The Analysis Of The Narrative Rhythm Of Huaben Fiction

Since20th, the narratology becomes popular in China, especially the researchmethods of it. The works upon it were introduced into China.It is especially hot to use thetheory of narratology to study the fiction, which is popular to modern people. The studiesof the narrator of the novel, the narrative perspectives, structures as well as time havebecome more and more deep and detailed. As regard the ancient fiction, there exists thework studying them from the perspective of narratology.However, the rhythm of Chineseancient fictions was not paid much attention. The study of it is not quite adequate. ZhuGuangqian once said that, the rhythm is the soul of art.The Huaben fiction is sparkling inChinese history of ancient novels. It cannot be ignored in the development of the narrativetradition of Chinese novels. The art of rhythm of it is absolutely a highlight in the historyof Chinese ancient literature.But this sphere is not paid much attention for a long time.The scholars explored the four forms that the Huaben fiction controls the narrativerhythm: omission and pause, introduction and scene with concrete cases, but also in a notdeep and broad way.They slightly mentioned the rhythm of Huaben fiction in notsystematic way. However, the points about it is interspersed in the dissertation as theexplanation for his frame, not in a systemic way of its own. The significance of this thesisis as follows: with the Huaben fiction as the basis, to use the research methods of fictionalnarrative rhythm set down in narratology to explore the expression of the narrative rhythmof it in a deep way, analyzing the relationship between the special mechanism of it and thenarrative rhythm and exposing the the unique charming narrative rhythm of Huaben fictionunder its unique mechanism. What’s more, through the comparison of the rhythm ofHuaben fiction to that of other fictions(the classical novels, the chapter novels,etc,) underits special era background, its unique beauty of rhythm would be found. The developmentof its rhythm would also be discussed in order to unveil the function of it and make theresearch upon the rhythm of Chinese ancient novels more deep and broad.This subject is divided into six parts, the first part introduces the meaning of narrative rhythm from the overall presentation,of course including the chinese traditional culture.While the second part is discussed the expression forms of the narrative rhythm, it is socharming because of the narrative rhythm.The third part is mainly discussed the differencesof the rhythm between rhythm and institution, to reveal the unique system of the novels tothe rhythm. While the fourth part mainly study the function of the rhythm. On thisbasis, the fifth part further displays changes of the narrative rhythm of Huaben Fiction. Thesixth part is mainly revealed the differences of the rhythm between Huben Fiction and theother ancient novels,in order to analyse the reasons and understand the background of thesociety and culture in a deeper level. If the fifth part is summarized from the lateral comb,the sixth part is summarized from the longitudinal combing.
