Ai Siqi is famous for his "popular philosophy" which created the process of the popularization of Marxist philosophy, and after a long-term commitment to the popularization of Marxist philosophy, he made an indelible contribution for it. This article in the first part elaborates the concept of the popularization of Marxist philosophy, as well as its significance in theory and practice. First and foremost, the process must possess the intrinsic theoretical features of philosophy. Second, popularity is the inevitable requirement of the process. Finally, the process of popularization needs to have its practical meaning. On its theoretical level, the popularization of Marxist philosophy is the inevitable requirement of its own adaptive development, the inevitable requirement of its Sinicized theoretical development and its modernized development.The second part introduces the relationship between Ai Siqi, his "Popular Philosophy" and the popularization of Marxist philosophy. This part starts with the brief introduction of Ai Siqi and its "popular philosophy" including its historical background, basic content and main features. Based on these backgrounds, this article further analyzes the initiative influence of Ai Siqi’s "Popular Philosophy" on the process of popularization of Marxist philosophy. Since the publication of "Popular Philosophy", there began a great wave of movement to combine Marxist philosophy with China’s reality at that time, and thus the spread of popularized Marxist philosophy associated with the public. The idea of popularization of Marxist philosophy advocated in "Popular Philosophy" later aroused a chain reaction in the field of philosophy. In the following fifty years, several books of the same kind were published among which "Homespun Philosophy" written by Han Shuying exerted the greatest influence.The third part of the article summarizes three main approaches to advance the popularization of Marxist philosophy. The first one is to engage in philosophical study, publicity and education. During the period in Yanan, Ai Siqi further illustrated the studying methods and regulations of Chinese contemporary history. In1960, he began to hold the position of chief editor to lead researchers to compile the first Chinese philosophy textbooks "Dialectical Materialism and Historical Materialism". Besides, he also took on a lot of teaching tasks in Party School of the CPC Central Committee. The second approach is to unscramble the philosophical works written by Chairman Mao. This article chooses two unscrambled works of Ai Siqi analyzing Chairman Mao’s "On Contradiction" and "On Practice". The third approach is to combat with wrong concepts. This article mainly mentioned the fight of thoughts between Ai Siqi’s and Ye Qi’s philosophical ideas and Ai’s criticism on Jiang Jieshi’"On China’s Fate".Through the above three ways, the article summed up the enlightenments on us to continue the popularization of Marxist philosophy which come from Ai Siqi’s promoting the popularization of Marxist philosophy:strengthen the theoretical research and public education of Marxist philosophy, attention China’s realities, at the same time to resist all the wrong views, against the view of simply equated popularization of Marxist philosophy with the popularization, against the view of separating Marxist philosophy popularization from the country and era, opposite empty talk of popularization of Marxist philosophy in spite of the life world.
