A Study On Ding-zhong System And Marriage Of Dunhuang "Zhong Women" In The Tang Dynasty

Formulate a policy served feudal dynasties rule and fit the conditions of thegiven time according to the need of social development are the goal of all rulers ofpast ages. Ding-zhong system is the result that feudal dynasties effectively exercisedsovereign authority by searching for the policy fit their rule. Taking the householdregister in the excavated and inherited documents as Center, in due order, the paperintroduces Condition of Domestic Researches on Ding-Zhong system, a survey for thesystem from Qin dynasty to Tang dynasty and probes into Zhong women (中女,zhong nv) group. This paper is divided into four parts:First part presents the cause, the significance, the method of the paper and givesa general outline of origin of Ding-Zhong system and domestic study status.Second part, based on the history documents, Overviews the formation ofDing-zhong system and fixes that it taken initial shape in Sui dynasty.Third part Continues Ding-Zhong system development and maturity and revealsthat the system played a great role in Tang dynasty.Final part makes an investigation on Zhong women group in Tang and defines itsrange and unmarried reasons and so on.The research indicates that Ding-zhong system exerted significant influence inancient Chinese society including politics, economy, and such like.
