This research is to investigated the students’ acquisition of standard Chineseconsonants at the different learning stages by acoustic pattern analysis, who are fromKorea, Thailand and Indonesia.Firstly, through the VOT comparison of the aspirated and unaspirated sounds atthe different learning stages, we find not all the three countries’ students can masterthe feature of aspirated and unaspirated better and better with the further study duringthe acquisition of the plosives and affricates, sometimes the consciousness of thisarticulation method even stop and reverse.Secondly, through the VOT comparison between the consonants that the foreignstudents and the standard consonants, we find the VOT deviations do not alwaysbecome smaller with the further study. Besides, at the different learning stages, weshould pay different focus on the different places of articulation of the foreignstudents.Thirdly, through the spectra center comparison, we find the result of acquisitionof "s/sh" on spectra center is quite different from the Chinese standard result. Besides,we also observe that the male and female has the different learning ability at thedifferent learning stages when studying the fricatives.
