In the late1980s, there was a rapid development of global economic, urbanconstruction and hence the great improvement of construction industry. Various visualart forms continue to participate in the construction of public space, in order tocommunicate to the public. Meanwhile, the rise of modern ceramics, the spread ofpottery education and the communication channels are continuously expanding toprovide more opportunities for potters involved in the construction of public space. Atpresent, although ceramic art in public space involve in many public art projects, its owndevelopment still remains relatively weak. However, pottery still takes a week share inthe public space, less proportion in the public art as well as lack of relative theory; thus,there is an urgent need to collate the existing domestic and international specificemotional material, to combine with the ceramic material itself schema language,traditional crafts and contemporary analysis of the binding mode, and to think about howceramic materials are presented in the public space. We can therefore raise the supportivetheory and make ceramic art in public space and artistic practice in self-contained play amore important role.The essay will explore the contemporary language of building ceramic schemata,citing "schema", with the visual form of the theory from the West. It will analyses theceramic language into the representative art cases and will sort out the application oftheory of ceramic materials in the public space of art practice, which will allow us tounderstand the law of pottery schema language in the public space applications from thespecific case. Meanwhile, with our research on the good foreign public Pottery cases, we will explore the development of ceramics domestically, and look for ceramic public art inthe "Chinese-style schema language." We hope those theoretical results of common andrare cases could support fresh explanations and supportive support and contribute to thepublic art in the future.
