The Study On Composing Character Of "Rural Charpter" Music Of Pipa Given By Liu Dehai

Dehai Liu is the pioneer and guider of modern Pipa art. As a Pipa performer,educator, and composer, he has made outstanding contribution to the performance,composition, idea, and education, and thus promoting the development of Pipa art. The“Rural Charpter”(including Heaven Pool, One Finger Zen, Home Journey, and GoldenDream) composed between1991and1997by Dehai Liu are the master work to reflecthis “Return to innocence” and fresh rural style.In this paper, we want to explore the composing features by interpreting andanalyzing the four works of “Rural Charpter”. Those works epitomize unique composingidea and technique and his art purchase of braving to innovation as well as absorbing.This paper includes Introduction, Main article, and Conclusion, and the main articleis further divided into five parts as follows:First, the article briefly introduces the development of modern Pipa art and life ofDehai Liu, and thus is background of “Rural Charpter” and introduction to the composer.Second, the article analyzes the musical essential of the four works of “RuralCharpter”, including materials, musical analysis, and comparison to the rural style ofother works, emphasizing the unique rural feature of those works. In addition this articleanalyzes the absorbingly composing idea and the technique of plethora of methods in“Rural Charpter”,and investigates the application of performing techniques in “RuralCharpter” from the aspects of classical and modern ones.And finally the article summarizes the art influence and historical values of “RuralCharpter”.
