The thesis employs the folk culture in Tianshui and Longxi of Gansuas research background, proposes to study the cases of splint dance inancestral worship. The field work in Qinzhou District of Tianshui andLongxi County first makes it possible to reveal and categorize themorphology of splint dance, and thus to discuss and analyzes the culturalconnotation of its morphology.The thesis is divided into four parts in addition to the introduction.The introduction describes the status, scope, method and purpose of thepresent research. Chapter One reflects on the Tianshui splint dance andits background and source. Through the field work, the fundamentalsituation and performance process are observed. The features of the danceecology are used to analyze its typical morphology and culturalconnotation. Chapter Two deals with the background and source of Longxisplint dance. Similarly, the fundamental situation and performanceprocess with typical morphology and cultural connotation are discussed.Chapter Three compares the situation, performance process, typicalmorphology and cultural connotation in Tianshui and Longxi splint dancein order to figure out their similarities and differences, and the reasons.Chapter Four, summarizes the cultural connotation of the morphology ofGansu splint dance in ancestral worship.
