Bilingual education is the basic national policy of Singapore. In the past50years of the development process, through the bilingual education in Singapore, especially play in bilingual education function of culture and value, and make the country out of crisis, protect the national and social stability, promote economic prosperity, national relation harmony, improve the domestic different nation of Singapore’s national identity and sense of belonging.This paper from the perspective of multicultural integration, this paper summarizes the development course of the bilingual education in Singapore, characteristics, influence and enlightenment.The paper argues, Singapore’s bilingual education background, including a plurality of social background, by colonial historical background, after the founding of the realistic background. From the cultural perspective of integration of Singapore’s bilingual education has experienced the development of importance attached to native English; English and Chinese coordinate development in three stages.The paper argues, the characteristics of the development, the bilingual education in Singapore:government leading the development of bilingual education, make a timely, pragmatic, forward-looking and maneuverability of the bilingual education policy; bilingual education policy, can step by step, governmental guiding, public voluntary participation, not force command; pay attention to the cultural function of bilingual education. The effect of bilingual education policy:great success, for the country and social stability, economic prosperity, national harmony to make important contribution. Since twenty-first Century, the Singapore government to face domestic and international new situation, put forward " the reconstruction of Singapore", in a multicultural context, how to treat a variety of culture, in order to achieve cultural integration will be the Singapore government faces a great challenge.The paper discussed the bilingual education in Singapore bilingual education in ethnic regions of our country enlightenment. The lessons include:China Nationality Bilingual Education should hold to governmental dominant, update as soon as possible and improve bilingual education laws and regulations, increase the bilingual teacher training, in order to promote development of bilingual education; bilingual education in ethnic regions should be on the basis of the rational guidance and parents, student voluntary choice according to the principle of combining; bilingual education in the minority areas of China through cultural integration, enhanced the nationalities to Chinese cultural identity and sense of belonging to our country, promote the harmonious development of the pattern of diversity in unity.
