| This thesis is a practical photography works of author, which based onthe subject of the recording and emotion expressing functions of photography,with current personal level of knowledge and skills.Since long ago, photography has been given many meanings of tools, forits character that "record things as they are" in some sense. Most of the time,it is regarded as a technique or tool, which can be widely used in fields likeeducation, research, news reporting. Among all these, documentaryphotography and news photography are the two in which photography hasmost utilities.Furthermore, from the beginning of photography itself,"idealistic"conscience, which represents the infiltrating from the creativity of thephotographer self and the impact on picture expressions has never stopped,however, but have been carried out by generations of photographers.Combined with the author’s graduation press<A Photographic Survey onLiving Status of Animals in Cities>, this essay focuses on the documentaryand news mode based pre-investigation by means of news photography, andthe process of extracting, telling, writing and creating the conceptphotography arts, especially combine tow of them, which is carried by themedia of city animals photography, rising the combo-problem in sociality andphotography, and make people think about the relationship between humanbeing and animals, the problems of human living and innner thoughts ofhuman, as well as exploring the methods, materials, media and expressions ofphotography in some sense.In the first half of this project, the documentary part, the living status ofanimals in big cities have been impersonaly recorded in the popular digitalmeans of photography. Digital techniques are used in selecting among varietyof news clue, digital picture shooting, later stage photography output, etc. Correspondingly, this record strictly follows the "truth first" discipline ofnews photography. Several representing scenes are extracted among picturesmade in a period of more than one year, like Abortion of Wandering Animals,Saving a Dog in Highway, Cat Abusing Revealed by Internet, etc, and thepeople’s will expressed in these news.In the latter half, the idealistic part, basing on collecting, selectingamong huge amount of recording pictures, searching relating information andconsulting professional researchers, as well as considering the living status,biological classification and emotional knowing of human beings, five typesof words are brought forward by the author,"compressing""durance""restriction""infringement" and "domination"". Circumstance figure in theform of "giving stage property subjectively to certain sceneries" is used todescribe the understandings of author on the living status o f city animals, andto express the main spirit that the fate of human being and the animals areclosely related. In order to emphasizing the subjective property of conceptionphotography, pictures in this half are all in film cameras, trying to reproducethe traditional way in photography. In the end, the two half are combined toform a integrated investigation report, and exhibited in the same time andplace, trying to compare and discuss the material of photography techniquedevelopment with before and its effects.It is hardly possible to avoid mistakes and defects according to thecurrent level of author, so instructions and criticising are welcome for thisessay. |
