Cantonese, as one of the seven Chinese dialects, is widely spoken in Cantonese area.It is even very common to see Cantonese dialect in the newspaper of Guangzhou Area.The language springs from human activities, so the environment has more or lessinfluence over people’s language acquisition. However, Cantonese is not included in theregular teaching of teaching Chinese as a second language in Cantonese dialectal area.This paper studies Cantonese in the newspaper of Guangzhou Area and finds that it isCantonese vocabulary that gets into writings and then draws a conclusion that it isnecessary to teach Cantonese vocabulary in teaching Chinese as a second language inCantonese dialectal area. Some typical Cantonese vocabulary found in the newspaper areused to explore the strategy of teaching Cantonese vocabulary in teaching Chinese as asecond language. |
