Arirang, the most typical and popular folk song in North Korea, is therepresentive of native music and is a dominant song in local people’s daily life. It hasbeen passing down and inheriting very well, as long as a place where Chaoxiannationality are distributed over. From nineteenth century, Arirang had been spread intoChinese northeast region due to the immigration of Chaoxian nationality. Yanbianaera has the most intensive Chaoxian nationality population in China and graduallyform the local special singing style during the inheriting process to traditional folkmusic between South Korea and North Korea.For studying and researching Arirang’s development status and specific singingstyle deeply, the author went to Chaoxian nationality autonomous region, Yanbian inJilin province and collect folk songs and related materials. There are two differentsinging styles: South style and North style in this area and it is very different betweenthese two styles in the aspect of singing style and skills, which are learnt by coveringsuccessors who inherit the South style and North style. However, during the period ofinheritance, successors create the local special singing style according to the personalteaching experience to combine traditional and modern singing style. |
