In Chinese function words, the conjunctions have a rather important place, and they are also a big part of the education of compound sentences. Compound sentences, whether it is used in written or spoken, in any part of language expression, are very important and a key element in grammar. So when using a compound sentence, it is also very important to know which conjunction words to use. Ever since I started to learn Chinese, I realized a lot of Turkish students including myself, encountered a lot of problems about Chinese conjunctions and conjunction words. Actually, this is not only Turkish students problem, but a lot of other students from other countries also have the same problem. And presently there aren’t a lot of researches about this topic, so on the base of former studies, I would like to make a further research on this topic.Chinese conjunctions generally are categorized according to their meaning, structure and meaning, structure combined standards. The thesis are on the basis of Mr. Zhang Bin’s point of view, he divides Chinese conjunctions according to their meaning in to two big parts; conjoined relations and phrase forming relations. On the other hand, Turkish conjunctions are generally distinguished according to their structure, use or meaning, conjunction features and their positions in a sentence. Chinese conjunctions uses in a compound sentence are diversified, according to the conjunctions and the conjunction adverbs that collocates and the meaning they express, Chinese conjunctions in compound sentences can indicate conjoined relations and phrase forming relations. Turkish conjunctions use, generally is according to their conjunction features or positions in a sentence. Chinese and Turkish conjunctions contrast analyze, made us realize that whether it is from semantic meaning or word order, both languages have their differences and similarities. Through the analyze of the contrast of Chinese and Turkish conjunctions, finding out the differences and similarities between them, can let us have a further comprehension of both languages, thus can let the teachers have better methods to teach the students mastering conjunctions in both languages. The thesis, firstly gives an introduction on Chinese and Turkish conjunctions, their concepts, classifications and uses. Then makes a contrast between the two languages according to their word order and semantic meanings, and find out their differences and similarities. In the end, after the analyze and research result, it comes to a conclusion. I hope this research can be a reference and help both Chinese and Turkish language learners and teachers.
