The grotto of the Yuan Dynasty excavated in Turpan most worthmentioning is the Da Taorgou and Xiao Taorgou Grottoes. The murals is the Tibetan Buddhist style. The contents of the painting include India’s eighty-four achievements, also have Tibetan Buddhist master and Tibetan Tathagata eight tower. There are many similarities about the painting style between Da Taorgou, Xiao Taorgou Grottoes and Mogao, the Yulin Grottoes. The painting style contact with the Kara-hot, Western Xia and TibetanBuddhist art. The Grottoes are relatively small, and away from the political and cultural center. Sculpture statues and painted murals is not very refinement. But Buddhism in Turpan still continue to move forward when Serindia Buddhism slowly decline. This moment, the introduction of Tibetan Buddhism injected fresh blood into the Turfan Buddhism, and making it the dawn of reproduction.
