Basing on the text, thewriter hopes to work out the value of the notes by Xuexue, in order to realize the significance ofthe Notes on Poets and Poetry by Yipiao and its influence on later poetic theory.Xuexue is a disciple of Ye Xie who is a prominent literary critic in the Qing Dynasty. On thebasis of the master’s inheritance, Xuexue expounded his unique poetic insight. The theoretical value is excavated from the text, and the effects are discussed on theresearch of the Notes on poets and poetry in Xiaoqingyuan and the Notes on Poets and Poetry byOubei.The conclusion systematically summarized the task.
