The world today is in a period of image production, dissemination and information surplus. Neverbefore have our eyes been so busy and tired, which is caused by two possible reasons: on one hand, the development of vision technology has spurred man’s desire to see strongly; on the other hand, thediversity of medium provides more possibility and feasibility. Based on the above two points, thevisual image is becoming more and more critical. Especially in the21st Century, digital technologycontinues to spread, from film, television, computer to today’s mobile phone. The combination ofdigital technology and the image art has created more updated image artistic language.Image art design, copy, production, and dissemination involve many disciplines, forming a newvisual culture. Image art begins to speak more than text because of the technical development. Ingraphic design, image information almost performs as the subject in the entire content, while the textfunction shifts from the narrative-based to the auxiliary image annotation. Image, as the main carrierof information exchange, is more widely used than language. Along with that have come many newproblems, many of which are worth attention and study, not only from the image form or form itself, but more importantly is to study how to generate the image as the carrier of information, and itscultural and social significance. As the modern digital image technology develops quickly, the visual art form is experiencing atremendous and far-reaching change. The image art and modern iconography develop so vigorously inthe contemporary environment that traditional visual art forms have been unable to match. Under thebackground, image language in the modern graphic design has been systematically studied as the aimof this thesis, and the basic rules and methods have been summarized. Meanwhile, this thesis mayoffer some references for the workers engaged in modern graphic design field.
