When the use of "graphic photography" in the design of posters is a study under the background of "digital and reading pictures era",new forms of expression needs to be injected to graphic language in poster design.With the help of the basis of graphic language,the form of photography language,and the conception of creative thinking,the organic integration of photographic language and vision was successfully accomplished,which led to the clear definition of "graphic photography".This paper discussed the potential relationship between poster design and montage based on the perspective of history,and gave the concept of "graphic photography" and elaborated the integration and mutual promotion between the two languages.Taking the representative examples of posters as the starting point,the author explored the creative laws and potential laws of the expression language,and expanded the new expression space of the poster language.The full paper is divided into three parts:the introduction,the theory,and the conclusion.The theory consists of four different chapters.Firstly,from the perspective of humanities and history,the author studied the expression of photographic montage in the field of poster design and seek potential links between the two.Based on this,combined with the outstanding features of the era of graph reading,the concept of graphic photography was defined;The second part summarized basic rules of photography language according to the characteristic expression of graphic language in poster design.The third part discussed photography's outstanding features in poster design in the digital era based on the acquisition,synthesis,and virtualization of digital images.Last but not least,the deficiencies of this research were explained and recommendations were made with the help of comparative analysis of different tools,such as vector images and manual drawings.
