Also, it is an art form with deeply national culture roots.Chinese painting and calligraphy is reflected in many areas and has more extensive influence in modern graphic design. With the coming of economic globalization, the art form of graphic design in our country had developed fully. Now, more and more designers have realized that there was no future that simulated Western design entirely, design only rooted in the soil of the national culture, in-depth experienced of local culture, that the source of creation could be found, and the Chinese-style design could be recognized by the whole world.Meanwhile, with the development of society and improvement of people’s living standards, the request for graphic design become more higher and higher. Only the works with the function of transmission information and culture features could possess long-term vitality. The unique aesthetic characteristics and rich cultural heritage which are inherent in the Chinese painting and calligraphy, make it has very important significance for the enrichment of modern graphic design language and content. Therefore, the close combination of the national art and modern design is the leading development trend in this field.With searching lots of interrelated and wide investigation of society culture, the development of Chinese painting and calligraphy was reviewed. The article expatiated the influence of Chinese painting and calligraphy on modern graphic designing. The art style of Chinese painting and calligraphy was summarized, and the aspect of picture form, charm, line and coloration were analyzed in detailed.
