This essay attempts systematically classifying honorific words of Modern Chinese based on Japanese honorific classification. In a World of foreign education, especially Japanese and Chinese language, it is necessary to grasp honorific expression to promote human communication to carry on smoothly. As long as honorific expression method is applied correctly, it is possible to reduce conflicts occurring on the actual communication.By understanding the differences of honorific expressions and ways of thinking between Japanese and Modern Chinese, I hope this essay could possibly remove some misunderstandings on different cultures.There are six parts in this essay:Chapter one:Introduction part. This part mainly introduces means of honorific words,reseach aims, theoretical background of reseach.Chapter two:This part mainly introduces general situation of the former studies.Chapter three:This part mainly introduces history and process of typological studies in Japanese honorifics.Chapter four:This part refers to the former studies, freshly sort out the types of Modern Chinese honorifics.Chapter five:This part is analysis of honorific expression used in actual situation in Japanese and Modern Chinese, and summarizes the differences between Japanese and Chinese honorifics.Chapter six:Conclusion part.This part aims to conclude and arrange contents and the main points of study.
