Study On The Modest, Honorific ,euphemism In The Complete Works Of Zengguofan Of Letter And Amendment To The Dictionary Of Modest , Honorific And Euphemism

The complete works of Zeng Guofan of letter include his 8231 letters. The contents of ZengGuofan's letters is very rich and present many aspects ,such as ,the affairs of state ,the job of contacts, talk about some people or academic, personnel transfer, personal life, social intercourse, his emotion ,general affairs and so on. These letters are classic classical Chinese letter and contain many kinds of modest, honorific and euphemism which are of great special value to Chinese philology. At present, the dictionary of modest ,honorific,euphemism is an authoritative work on study on modest, honorific and euphemism but the dictionary's author neglect the value of ZengGuofan's letter and have not make the best of these letters. Obviously, this situation is not only unfavourable to the dictionary itself but also the study on the modest, honorific and euphemism.This thesis based on the study on the modest ,honorific and euphemism in the complete works of ZengGuofan of letter, taking the research on the dictionary, using comparison method ,statistical method and induction method ,to discover and correct some weakness in the dictionary in collecting words, documented evidence and paraphrase.Wish the job provide certain valuable material to the compilation of dictionaries, the collation of ancient books, term research and the study on Chinese glossary history.
