Practice And Application Of Double Bass In Symphony Orchestra

Double bass is an important instrument in symphony orchestra, especially in the bass part. The double bass plays an important role in music emotional expression. In our paper we first gave an introduction of the technology in playing double bass, the method of holding the double bass and the bow, the intonation and rhythm in the symphony orchestra and give an brief introduction of fingering and bowing, also the common playing method. In the last part, we give an introduction to Beethoven’s "Fifth Symphony", especially the key section the second and third movement. We pointed out the important technique and the common error. Totally, this thesis show high importance for the practice and application of double bass in symphony orchestra, improved the theory of playing double bass, at the same time, for the soloist of double of double bass, this thesis also shown high importance.
