Zhe School Painting is one of the schools in the Ming Dynasty in Chinese history, it went through the emerging, springing up, developing and at last declining, there must be some historical reasons lying in it. Meanwhile, it had been influence by many other factors such as artistic aesthetics and value orientation in the social background at that time. However, due to the fact that Zhe School Painting has been neglected for a very long period and there is bias towards it, it is a necessity to analyze the nature, environmental revolutions and other aspects of Zhe School Painting in a much more objective, impartial and over-rounded perspective. Therefore, I have divided the research of my subject into three chapters, the painters and their artistic development in late Zhe School Painting, analysis of the decline of Zhe School Painting and lastly the influence of Zhe School Painting. I aim to figure out the specific reasons of the decline of Zhe School Painting from the perspective of painters in late Zhe School Period, in order to unveil the irreversibility of Zhe School’s decline and drag out its spirits in artistic development and its unique core gene as well as its value of inheritance.
