| Art song is a musical form originated from European Romantic music in early19thCentury, which consists of melody, poetry and pianoforte accompaniment. As thefirst master in composition of art songs, the Austrian composer/musician, Schubert,was the very founder whilst an innovator of this musical form. Being referred to as‘the King of Songs’, Schubert created more than600compositions throughout his life.His art songs were composed as the perfect fusions of instruments, vocal, melody andliteratures, which has left an immortal fortune in the history of musical development.This report was to analyze the pianoforte accompaniment part of Schubert’s artsongs with consideration of the origin of art songs and features of Schubert’scompositions. It was divided into three parts:First,the origin of art songs and features of Schubert’s compositions wereintroduced;The second part discussed relationship between Schubert’s art songs andpianoforte accompaniment, especially the mutual supportive relationship betweenthem as well as the symbiotic relationship between the vocal and pianoforteaccompaniment; The third chapter analyzed the lyrics’ impact on pianoforte accompaniment inSchubert’s art songs, which facilitated the mix of lyrics sampling, poetry and music,and made pianoforte accompaniment the perfect interpretation of the lyrics;With all the aspects discussed in this article, hopefully, the pianoforteaccompaniment of Schubert’s art songs could be researched more thoroughly. |
