There exists a tough question in the industry and the academic world that how to express the heart activity of the characters. The movie is an art form that reflects the real life through the television technology, the image and the voice. The audience could directly feel all of the image and the voice. However, the inner life of character is a moral sense that is hardly expressed by visual means and aural means.Review the history of the movies; there are a large number of the practitioners tried to externalize the thought of the characters by their own manners. But there is some argument in the audience because there is no systematic summary that could reveal the original mind of characters, or, the new generations of practitioners do not grasp the points of the externalization and the expression. From the author’s perspective, the predecessors have unfolded a scene of prosperity before us, and they have proved the possibility of the artistic externalization of the inner world of characters by the movies. So, in this thesis, the author tries to sort out the way of externalization of the inner world of characters through eight manners (the facial expression control; the arrangement of body movement; the construction of the illusion; the construction of the memory; the selection of the props; the construction of the scenery; the selection of the incidental music; the choice of sound effect) of four categories (externalize the thought of characters through the facial expression and the body movement; through the illusion and the memory; through the props and the scenery; through the incidental music and the sound effect) that to help the amateurs or the rookies to express the soul of the characters exquisitely so that to create more films that show more depth of thought.
