| Cheng Jiasui(1565-1644), as an active figure in poetry and painting, wasfamous for his poetry and painting in Late Ming dynasty. He had highattainments not only in poetry and painting but also in calligraphy and music.With distinctive literary quality, his landscape painting mainly adopted thetraditional painting of Yuan dynasty. His landscape painting gradually formedto style of “simple”, which was influenced by many factors. This article wasdivided into three chapters to elucidate the relationship between the style andcauses.ChapterⅠ, the author mainly summarized and described Cheng Jiasui andthe form of his “simple” style of moutain water painting. His painting stylederived from Huang Gongwang and Ni Yunlin. Restrospecting his painting ofancient immitating and present life, we could find that the form of his specialpainting style was the result of referring ancetor and innovating his own idea. ChapterⅡ, the formation of Cheng Jiasui’s landscape painting “simplelight”style was also affected by the subjective and objective factors. First of all,from the subjective perspective, Cheng Jiasui had noble character, with hightalent in poetry, calligraphy and music, which did certain influence on hispainting style. Secondly, from the objective factors of poverty, Cheng Jiasui ’sreal life directly affected his formation of “simple light”style. Cheng Jiasui’spoor life led to his living by painting, which is also indirectly affected hisformation of landscape painting “simple light”style. In addition, Cheng Jiasui’sfriends and the background also affected his formation of landscape painting“simple light” style.ChapterⅢ, the author introduced cheng jiasui and his further development in“simple”style. The contemporary painter huang binhong regared him as the ancestor of new four families in sian. Cheng jiasui thought highly of Ni Yunlin’s painting style and did immense contribution to the promotion of his popularity in the painting forum of late Ming dynasty. |
