Cheng Jiasui was famous as a great poet of JiaDing state, who was active during the years of JiaJing, WanLi, TianQi and ChongZhen in Ming Dynasty. He made great achievements in many fields such as poem writing and poetic theory. He and his friends such as Liu Liufang, Tang Shisheng, Lou Jian were called Four Literars of JiaDing because of their literary influence and mannerism.Cheng Jiasui was born in JiaDing but his family came from Hui state. He was fond of writing poem and famous for writing poem. He spent many times on making a tour for pleasure and poetic writing. There're nearly one thousand and two hundred poems in the poetic collection named writing in the Plain Park. His writings include many aspects, for example, natural poetry, lyric, pure and universalpoesie. The style of poems was fresh, plain and sentimentalism. Generally, Cheng Jiasui made use of poem to deeply reflect his intense sorrow, taste and sentiment of subject in special times. He utilized imagery such as rain, plum blossom image for symbol of his feeling. His poems were showing tension, einbildungskraft and esemplasticpower because his feelings were hurt deeply by his life.In addition to the writing, Cheng Jiasui also made better achievements in field of poetic theory. He was an important critic in late Ming Dynasty, but his achievements in poetic have not been appreciated or criticized. It does not fit his role in the literary circles then. When returning to the old style in term of poetic writing rose up again during his times, he criticized the method to study poem. And writing should adopt the material widely and not limited in Tang Dynasty. Through his own writing experience, he put forward some opinions aiming at the disadvantage of plagiary in poetic writing. That is to say, the poet should concentrate on poetic style and poetic theory. Poems should show historical, sensitive and absolutely true sentiment.
