The poetry in early stage of Qing dynasty is in a period of great prosperity after Shunzhi Emperor and Kangxi Emperor. Nalan xingde, honored as the best poet in Qing dynasty, played a very important role in the art history of Qing dynasty. Wang Guowei said in his "Ren Jian Ci Hua" that Nalan Xingde observed things with a natural eye and expressed feelings with a natural tongue. He was able to be thus, sincere and true, because he had just entered the Central Plain and had not yet become contaminated by the style of the Han people. Most of his friends were common scholars of Han nationality. A lot of his poems of friendship shows his admire for the character and talent of southern poets, such as his recommendation for Yan Shengsun, Gu Zhenguan, Jiang Chengyin and other poets of moral integrity, his recognition of homeland affections of Chen Weisong and Gu Zhenguan and his sympathy for Wu Zhaoqian.
