The Research On Fromm’s Freedom Thought And Its Present Enlightenment

Erich Fromm was impacted by Freud’s psychoanalytic theory and Marxist socialtheory,committed to thinking of human nature and social psychology, concerned aboutthe reality of people’s living condition. Through a combination of Freudianism andMarxism, he created a unique perspective of the use of psychoanalysis in the social field.Fromm writted a lot in his life, the purpose of this paper is based on the book "Escapefrom Freedom", to sort out and evaluate the free thought of Erich Fromm, incombination with Chinese social practice to explore the theory and practice of freedomof thought.The article first describes the life of Erich Fromm, of his social background andlife experience to understand the influencing factors of his thought. And then introducethe book of "Escape from Freedom". This book reveals the modern man caught in theparadox of freedom, pursuit of freedom and escape from freedom. It is essentially freesurvival status, Analysis of the psychological mechanism of escape from freedom, andidentify solutions for ways to escape from freedom and the ideal social model. Thisfreedom of methods and perspectives are novel, with its unique theoretical and practicalvalue. From the perspective of Marx’s concept of freedom to be evaluated, pointing outthat in the concept of alienation, the ideal social model and the subjective tendencies ofthe way to escape from freedom of the solution, determines his concept of freedom inthe theory height will certainly lower than that of Marx, will move towards the illusoryutopia.
