Making Verifications And Explanations About Mongolian Loanwords In The Southern Song Dynasty

In the Southern Song Dynasty,the Mongolian nationality and the Hannationality’s association increased more and more. A certain amount ofMongolian loanwords appear in the books written in Chinese in theSouthern Song Dynasty.The Mongolian loanwords in this period lays thefoundation for Mongolian loanwords’ useness and development inChinese. And it has important significance to research language and culture ofthe Han Nationality and the Mongolian Nationality．The research of theMongolian loanwords in the Southern Song Dynasty by predecessors is notadequate. The fruits of words about making verifications and explanations isfew. There are few theory research about the Mongolian loanwords in theSouthern Song Dynasty. Already existing fruits have a number of problems.The thesis is established in the Southern Song Dynasty and research theMongolian loanwords of the period when the Southern Song Dynasty ranparallel with the Yuan Dynasty. The Mongolian loanwords in theSouthern Song Dynasty are collected extensively. For one thing, makingverifications and explanations of several Mongolian loanwords in theSouthern Song Dynasty; for another, showing the complete picture of theMongolian loanwords in the books written in Chinese in the Southern SongDynasty, and summarizing the features of the Mongolian loanwords in thisperiod.The research content of the thesis mainly includes following threerespects.First, making verifications and explanations of the words.There arealtogether eighty-five Mongolian loanwords collected in the thesis, andtwenty-four words maked verifications and explanations. The Mongolianloanwords are classified four categories by standard of the noun of expressingobjects’ definition and class,which are trible name,people name, other noun of expressing objects and general words. Second, the remainder Mongolianloanwords are classified into the words which the meanings have been knownand the words which the meanings have doubt.In order to show thecomplete picture of the Mongolian loanwords in the Southern Song Dynastywith text. Third, summarizing the features of Mongolian loanwords in theSouthern Song Dynasty,from the aspects of the words, the meanings ofthe words and the forms of words on the whole Mongolian loanwords inthe thesis. The total of the Mongolian loanwords in the Southern SongDynasty is a few. And the distribution of them is scattered. The proportionof noun expressing objects is large. Most Mongolian loanwords in the thesisstarted from the Southern Song Dynasty, and a few words inherited fromprevious dynasty. Most of them are single meaning words. The characteristicof Mongolian culture from the meanings of the words is strong.
