Directed Forgetting is an intentional forgetting phenomenon, that emphasizes it isintentional and directed. To the explanation of directed forgetting, which at presentmainly has two kinds of theories:the selective rehearsal and retrieval inhibition.Selective rehearsalis a kind of encode theory that think the difference of TBR and TBFitems recalled is mainly a repeat of which has been deeper encoding of TBR items, norepeat of TBF items, which is the main reasons of produce directed forgetting. Retrievalinhibition theory that the cognitive mechanisms that produce directed forgetting effectdid not occur in the early stage of the encoding, but in the final stages of extraction.This phenomenon is mainly in the extraction of TBF items were inhibited, there is nosuccessful extract. The two theories has its supporters, the early studies have focused onthe controversy of the two theories. With further research, more consistent with thetheory that selective rehearsal is the reason of directed forgetting effect by the itemmethod and both by the list method. But for real inhibit the process of retrievalinhibition theory behind, there are a lot of contentions, researchers proposed retrieval-induced forgetting to explain all of the inhibition process, but some studies also foundthat, when learning materials related to high extract not only does not produceinhibition, but will also increase the memory.In previous studies based on several controversial, this study generated classrelated materials research directed forgetting effect in the extraction exercise paradigm.This study focused on two questions: the representation of the strength of the twomaterials, the list2retrieval practice will increase the directed forgetting effect;category leads and extraction exercises directed forgetting. Experiment1used differentcues of related materials, Experiment2used no cues of related materials. Concreteresearch conclusion as follows:1.The cable had prompted the group, the higher representation of material directedforgetting effect stronger.2.Cue of the material, increase the list2retrieval pratice, enhance the directedforgetting effect.3.Cue representative materials, directed forgetting effect will diminish the numberof the list2extraction exercises.4. Wireless had prompted the low representation of materials, the list2extractedthe number of exercises to increase the directed forgetting effect increases.
