Chinese, a great language with a long history in the world, has rich vocabulary andvarious forms of fixed phrases. Idioms are the essences, which express the basis of Chineseculture and the unique psychological structure, ways of thinking, aesthetic taste and valuesystem. This paper, based on Chinese female idioms and metaphors in cognitive linguisticsas object of study, is to research Chinese female idioms through three parts.The first part defines Chinese idioms and Chinese female class idioms firstly. Then itdivide the source domain of Chinese female class idioms, which can be divided into fivekinds, the plant as the source domain, animal as source domain, non-living as source domain,historical facts anecdotes and legends as source domain, and concept as source domain. Later,it will make out Chinese female class idioms as targets, which can be divided into twelvepart as appearance, age, dress, feelings, names, background, situation, premises, mood,character, wisdom and temperament.The second part is to research the characteristics of the basis of the female idioms ofChinese of the mapping of metaphor from source domain to target domain reflect conceptualmetaphor, Chinese female idioms metaphor. Through analysis, there are three characteristicsof Chinese female idioms, including the conceptual metaphor of Chinese female idiomscontained three varieties: structural metaphor, oriental metaphor and ontology metaphor;meanwhile, in the same words you can choose two source domains to reflect the same targetdomain.; in Chinese female idioms, as well, existing the universal phenomenon, you can useone source domain to reflect many a target domains, you can also be used that a same targetdomain can be reflect multiple source domains. By this way, one can fix these things to formthe metaphorical structure of networks.The third part is to research Chinese female idioms cognitive metaphor and the culturalcharacteristics of Chinese nation. After analysis, the experience and concept that ancientpeople gained in their lives is the factor that is the choice of source domain category. In thepatriarchal society, people regarded the “delicate as beautiful” as their appreciation.
