The Junior Middle School Students’ Perfectionism And Family Environment Related Research

In middle school perfectionism is a phenomena which to some extent affects pupil’s mental health. As the family environment is where they grow up, many researches show that perfectionism is under the development of family environment. But all these researches are empirical study.By the questionnaire survey, this research carries on a survey on the relationship between perfectionism and family environment.280junior middle school students in ChongQing were selected as the experimental subject. Perfectionism can be divided as adaptive perfectionism, maladaptive perfectionism and nonperfectionist from its scale to research the family background differences of the three groups. The result shows that the junior middle school perfectionists are nearly the same in terms of their background except their grads. Perfectionism is closely related to their family environment. Achievement Orientation, Conflict and Intellectual-Cultural Orientation of a family environment are in a regression model and the accumulative total prediction rate for perfectionist is13.6%. Adaptive perfectionism, maladaptive perfectionism and nonperfectionist in different dimensions show their striking different.
