Research On Lin Sen’s Political Thought

Lin Sen is an important person in the history of Republic of China. In his early years,he worked in Taiwan and participated the struggle to against Japanese, he also created therevolutionary groups to against Qing dynasty. As the patriarch of the Revolution of1911, when the Republic of China is established, he took up the first speaker of theSenate and presided over the founding legislation. In the later period, he participatedin various revolutionary activities, such as the movement of anti-Yuan Shikai, the lawenforcement campaigns, the national revolutionary movement and the anti-Japanese War.He had served as various positions, such as the governor of Fujian Province, the firstminister of overseas department in KMT central, the chairman of Overseas ChineseAffairs Commission, the member of KMT Central Control Commission, the vicepresident and president of the legislative yuan. Also, he served as the chairman of theNational Government for12years, which is the longest as the head of state in modernChinese history. Under two ways of thinking of historical materialism and dialecticalmaterialism, in order to base on the affection by Lin Sen’s age, education and his growthsocial environment to his political thoughts, this test expounded his political thought in asystematic way, discussed the feature of his idea, and analyze his political thought moreobjectively so that try to reappear the original visage of Lin Sen more comprehensivelyand objectively.The discussion is divided into following four parts:The first part is concerned with the forming of Lin Sen’s political thought, whichdiscussed from the product of the era, the influence of Chinese traditional culture, theimpact of western modern education and the influence of individual revolutionaryactivities in his early stage.The second part is concerned with the main content of Lin Sen’s political thought,including his patriotic ideology, the inheritance and development of SunYat-sen’s thought, democratic political thought and the thought of inaction of thegoverning.The third part discusses the basic feature of Lin Sen’s political thought, whichmainly summarizes four basic characteristics: the patriotic and national salvation is themain line in his thought, the unique interpretation that the Three People’s Principles is thesalvation doctrine, strong sense of moralism, the rational unity of his political ideal andpractice.The last part is the conclusion, it mainly analyzes Lin Sen’s political thought objectively. The progress and the positive role in his political thought is fully affirmed.The limitation of his cognition in era and class is analyzed objectively.
