Characteristics Of Chang Xiangyu Singing Art

Henan Opera is the biggest local Opera in China. With over100years history, itwas originated, prevailed in Henan and is an inseparable part of traditional Chineseculture. Its tuneful melody and rhythm makes it quite popular among the people,contributing to the passing of Chinese people’s traditional culture. During itscirculation, Henan Opera comes into different styles and different personal genres.Chang Xiangyu is one of the representatives. The Chang Aria she set up develops to aschool of its own. Through the study of the art of Chang vocal cavity, this paper aimsto unveil the artistic charm of Henan Opera and provide an analysis of Chang Aria’sart ideology, thus absorb its essence to enrich our ethical musical and improve ourlevel of performing national vocal music.In this paper, the structure is divided into the following five parts:The preface: briefly introduce the concept of Henan Opera and the personalbackground of Chang Xiangyu. Understand of Chang Xiangyu, the arts and culturalawareness of Chang.Chapter Ⅰ: the forming of art of Chang school singing. Focus on the discussion ofChang Xiangyu’s life experience and the development of her art character-“Opera isgreater than life, art is limitless”. Also introduce the development of thecharacteristics of Chang Aria during different periods of time.Chapter Ⅱ: Characteristics of Chang school singing art. Through the study of theChang Xiangyu’s pronunciation, style, breath, lingering charm and emotion, using ofthe true and falsetto, summed up the art of her singing style and aestheticcharacteristics.Chapter Ⅲ: The adaption of Chang Aria in folks/national opera. Through theanalysis over the the application and adaption of Chang Aria in national opera, enrichand develop singing of the national opera.Part Ⅳ: Through systematic and theoretical exploration of the art of Changschool singing, dig the value of her aesthetics and art of music for voices in order topromote the development of opera vocal art, contributing to the prosperity anddevelopment of our national vocal art.
