Chinese characters are one of the most ancient texts in the world. As the carrier ofChinese cultural, the unique physical form shows the Han nationality of Chinese’s particularway of thinking, the philosophy and the humanistic ideas. At present, Chinese characters, asthe only ideograph in the world, has passed through a lengthy process of formation anddevelopment. As the developing of times and civilization, Chinese characters change into theform of flexibility, and it’s visual style becomes richer and more plentiful. And it alsobecomes an indispensable element in the Chinese graphic design. In recent years, plenty ofChinese characters design works and books show the enthusiasm of designing, but many ofthem lay particular stress on the redesign of visual layer, such as the scrip and the chirographyof Chinese characters. Even by reading Chinese characters in the ridiculous way, thesedesigns misinterpret Chinese culture and spirits obviously.The world status of Chinese design is being strengthened, but it has not formed acompleted academic system. The theories of Chinese characters and the traditional graphicsdoctrine are inadequate and the practices are not enough. Actually, it is not shortage ofdesigners in China, but lacking of men of cultural detail, and it requires us to study Chineseprofound traditional culture, understand the Chinese way of thinking and expression andanalyze and summarize Chinese characters and the design from thoughts and methods.Through this way, Chinese characters, as the representative of Chinese traditional culture, willshine in the modern design, thus the position of Chinese design in the international visualdesign will strengthen.This article aims at the problems of the inland Chinese characters design. It points theorigins and development of Chinese characters by analyzing the ancient books, six categoriesof characters, finding out the corresponding modern design methods. And it reveals therelationship between Chinese characters and Chinese way of designing from the fundamental.The focus of this article is based on the ideographic characteristic of Chinese characters,deconstructing Chinese characters, and mentioning about the new trend—the nationalelements will be integrated into modern graphic design. Finally, discussing about the newideas in design and developing potentials of Chinese characters under the environment ofglobalization.The focus of the thesis is the4thchapter, Chinese Modern Creative—the Deconstructionof Chinese Characters. It is a summary and conclusion of the research on Chinese characters’deconstruction design in Chinese field, and summing up the far-reaching influence respects tothe graphic design. Through summarizing the deconstruction of Chinese characters, sixmethods in Chinese graphic design are obtained. Fusion consciousness and creative spirits should be united together, for instancecoalescing traditional and modern elements, merging eastern and western culture and meshingthe technology and art, and pursuing creativities with mingling, under the context ofglobalization. Three aspects are summed up in this thesis: a characteristic, nationalized andera Chinese style road can be built with the combination between epochal character andnationality, the integration of nationality and world and the amalgamation of advancedtechnology and traditional forms.
