Starting from the latter half of the20th century, with the social productivitydevelopment, industrial improvement, and people’s living standards growth, the demandfor art works to beautify the living and the environment has come to an unprecedentedlevel. A variety of art works go into people’s lives and households.Because of its beautiful forms, full of rich colors, and suiting both refined and populartastes, decorative arts are much favored by the public. Just as what a critic said, whichmight be very straightforward but reflects some facts, that different people have differentdemands and ornamental art levels. Mixed or uneven works are flooded in the field of art.The more popular trends the works represent, the more artistic and artistic value they are. Itis not actually true. The truly artistic works are often beyond its time.Real works of lasting artistic values are certainly not the currently large number ofreplication and full of the so-called market commercialization. Decorative art is not onlysuperficial ornamental and functional beautification. As an emerging concept, thedecorative painting has a debatable, even outlandish, demarcation and definition in thefield of art. It is thought that the decorative arts have far-reaching artistic value. However,the mainstream view thinks that the decorative arts on the artistic value, aestheticperformance with the so-called "pure art" are equally decorative painting not just theapparatus or building accessories, painting, painting and even sculpture, buildings belongto the scope of the decorative arts. Decorative painting is a branch of research in the fieldof decorative arts, comprehensive art of painting with decorative painting, drawingmaterials, multimedia art, audio-visual art and performance art. Here we mainly discussabout the level of decorative painting, which has a unique artistic style and features. Themost important features are the distinctive sense of form, the planar processing, and therich decorative style. The strong sense of decorative painting is from the effect offormalized elements of the picture. These formalized languages of arts are important forthe picture emotional.In the decorative rich-meaning works, no matter which kind of styles is inseparablefrom artistic creation unified rule, that is, the coordination of change and unity, a cleartheme, highlighted characteristics, and intriguing connotation meanwhile. As far asdecorative painting, the beauty of form is the techniques of expression and aesthetic waywhen the painters create their arts. In this way we explore and study the relationshipbetween the picture form and emotional expression. Also staying in the environment of today’s Western painting and Chinese painting areconverging, colliding with each other and absorb each other, decorative painting growingwith nutrition shows the situation of a more diversified. We should understand therelationship between the art form itself and the art of emotional expression from the pointof the nature of the arts, and create more artworks in the form and emotional expression.
