Point of the country’s political status, China still maintain the independence and sovereignty at the national form from the Opium War to founding of new China, but in fact, the political and economic power are controlled by imperialist, china is a semi-colonial country and is urgent to build a modern nation-state. The history course of Imperialist resistance, in the foreground are mainly political and military, because the power control and economic interests are directly related, relatively speaking, the cultural resistance in the background, but, in the Birmingham School of view, culture is a whole lifestyle, and cultural studies is a complete description of the process of this whole lifestyle, the literary imagination refract the population’s call to the modern nation-state. As opposed to rural, urban reflect political and economic semi-colonial nature of the Chinese culture, this paper uses cross-referencing between ill city and the healthy town to reflect the cultural and political practice in the semi-colonial context.The introduction is the first part of the paper, mainly discusses the generation of semi-colonial context and the nation-state imagination modern imagination and literature in the semi-colonial cultural and political context, and through the semi-colonial context of the two main cultural and political space to interpret the new urban narrative.The second part mainly through semi-colonial period, the street markets, cafes, dance halls, parks, race track, the early national bourgeoisie set-up’s factories, and other space landscape explore the symbolic of cultural and political space.The third part mainly through morbid civilized, healthy barbarians, comprador, West cubs, zero-I, and semi-colonial China Bliss World criticism of the harm of the modern city of human nature and the local border town certainly save more than the traditional civilization humanity the saves people.The fourth part mainly calls for China establishing a strong and prosperous modern nation-state based on the multi-ideas in the semi-colonial context, reflecting by allegorizing, decadent, strange, dirge and narrative strategies. Conclusion, the last part of the paper, mainly reviews and sums up the urban narrative in semi-colonial context, and reflects on the cultural and political practice at that time to the present reference.
