Principle Allowed——Engelhardt Bioethics Thought Research

With the development of science and technology and the coming of the information era, the different cultural intertwined, although it is amazing that everyone remains different moral values, we can communicate with each other very well and exchange ideas in the aspects of economic and culture. Western advanced medical technologies and many kinds of cutting edge culture are constantly introduced to our country. Many problems occurred when rapid development of medical technologies encounter China’s traditional moral values. From forbidding abortion to nowadays the overspread of painless blots advertisement, and from initial ban to gradual permit, among which is constant collision of morality and value. When medical science and technology constant development encounters the limit of moral view, whether we should follow the existing morality or consider the long-term value with medical technology development to make a decision? Which is the real moral opinion? If we want to prove or debate which morality is right, we have to find a substantial standard, people seems to have formed these standards with the moral disputes in different angles, but none of them can be proved by reason, for every kinds of standards are set in advance in essence. Apart form ration, other ways can also tell us what is the correct moral values? How people with different views to solve moral disputes? peaceful cooperation? Which comes into Engelhardt’s allow principle researched in this paper----Engelhardt consider moral resolution is the only way to solve the dispute. Because people can’t prove rationally which is correct, thus they can not change the opinion of one part and use force to solve moral disputes, which is already not in reason and have abandoned ethics. Allow principle constitute a prior condition to contemporary social ethics, it makes us keep harmony in ethics under the diversity of moral system. Facing the ethical problems brought by science and technology,China needs to construct bioethics fitting our national conditions to guide the development of health care policies.
