The research of the field of "City brand",In recent years, emerges in endlessly. Different subjects experts put forward different views and opinions from different angles. Most discussions are based on economic theory, the human living environment and so on. Within recent researches, many scholars introduced CIS into the molding of "city brand", put forward new ideas and perspectives for the "City brand" theory.This thesis is a research of an old industrial bases city, Shenyang, which has a long history, a profound cultural deposits. The cultural characteristic is explored, the local cultural symbol is concluded and summarized,and also the culbural symbol. After the research of the culbural symbol culture, explore the culture in an art economical view, the culbural symbol design strategy which lies in Shenyang city brand CIS can be inheritted.First, the thesis summarizes the current situation of the city brand after the research at home and abroad. Secondly, after the research and the analysis of the city brand, From the Angle of the city’s development in Shenyang, Summed up the most prominent representative of cultural symbol(Mainly reflected in:The prehistoric civilization "XinLe site"., Ancient civilizations "manchu culture" and the founding of the modern industry civilization, these three aspects), And according to these three aspects analysis, research, and the "cultural symbols". Then according to previous research and refined,"City culture" sign in shenyang city of shenyang brand CIS of the paper discusses the design strategy, design and research.And at last, I’ll make a summary of this research, share my point of view, whatever is good or not so good.
