The tradition ceremony of "prefectural Chenghuang Temple" in Yuhe Town of Yulin City from Shaanxi Province is time-honored and gigantic, which is based on the belief in "Cheng Huang" for the purpose of establishing harmonious communities and integrating of a variety of beliefs, arts and entertainment as one of the folk activities. On every lunar13th of January and the2nd of August, it is the "Chenghuang Going Out of the House" Day, which offers sacrifices to the Ox King, the Buddha and the Chenghuang God by all local people’s participation with the strong incense. This paper focuses on the results of the reseach for this kind of ritual and forms and organizations of the ritual music, which includes five aspects of the culture space, the temple ceremony’s recording, art groups, the current status and analysis of the ritual sound and the cultural interpretation.Thereinto, the meaning of ubiquitous musical performances surpasses the language and sound itself and the different selections of performances’ forms chosen by beliefs and aesthetic, which builds a social basis for the survival of the ritual music. The Lay Buddhists and Sheng Pipe musicians’play, the Suona band’s drum music, the drama and Yangko performances are all the products of the regional society, which corroborates the core value of the regional society to a certain extent."Festival" activity is not only enriching people’s spiritual life, regulating peoples’ psychological, protecting the folk arts, and also it is the best chance to alert and encourage people.
