Yu Clan is the representative of Daibei Luxing hereditary scholar class. Itsoriginal family name is Wuniuyu. Yu Clan is an important component of Tuoba tribal alliance, following Tuoba tribal alliance enter into Central Plains. Later gradually developed the Aristocratic Family with hanization because Emperor Xiaowen set family name, experiencing regime replace and things change still stand. Yu Clan is very influential clan. The development of Yu Clan reflected a splendid process development and evolution of Daibei Luxing hereditary scholar class on a certain degree. Yu Clan had an important influence on society at that time. So use Yu Clan in the Northern Wei Dynasty as my master’s thesis topic. The objective is deepening understanding of Yu Clan, what’s more, we can have a better knowledge on the Northern Wei Dynasty and Daibei Luxing hereditary scholar. The following is the thesis’s structular and main opinion.The thesis is made up of three parts, including forward introduction, body of the text, peroration. The forward introduction consists of choosing subject research status and writing ideas. So I have a overall grasp about articles be related Yu Clan over these years. Then point the shortcomings from the research. In order to analyise following passage.The body of the text consists of five chapters. Chapter1investigates the original family name, migration and clan genealogy of Yu Clan according to the official history, epigraph and inscriptions on a tablet. This is the basic of the whole thesis’ research. Chapter2studies Yu Clan’s status of officialdom. Yu Clan entered “Xunchen baxing” by military exploit, two generations three from Yu Clan served supreme commander of the army‐General Lingjun. Expecially the father Yulie and the son Yuzhong had important power in Emperor Xiaowen, Emperor Xuanwu and Emperor Xiaoming. What’s more, they had an important influence on political situation the Northern Wei Dynasty. Yu Clan’ status of officialdom is different boundary reform by Emperor Xiaowen. Chapter3researches Yu Clan’s marriage. The meaningful of marriage was extremely important and can not be ignored to clan. Before and after the boundaries of the reform of Emperor Xiaowen, it was different on marriage clans and marriage characteristic. Chapter4discusses analyzes Yu Clan’s economic currency. Yu Clan’s economic power was strong and its source of finance was varied., such as reward, food sealed, an official’s salary, landed porperty, embezzlement and bribery. Chapter5researches Yu Clan’s family customary moral standards and way of life. This chapter consists of three parts: military tradition, culture and attaching important to filial piety. All of these can be seen, Yu clan not only followed the tradition of military, but also affected by Han culture. The conclusion part summaries the development history of Yu Clan in the Northern Wei Dynasty. Then simplily discusses Yu Clan’s continuity in Xiwei Beizhou Dynasty and SuiTang Dynasty, then points varies from military to culture in this period and the significance of the thesis.
