Research On Marriage Views Of Scholar-officials In Song Dynasty

The concept of marriage of scholar-bureaucrats in the Song Dynasty refers to the views and attitudes of the scholar-bureaucrats in the Song Dynasty on marriage,spouse selection,marital life,divorce and remarriage.Under the background of social change between Tang and Song Dynasty,the marriage concept of scholar-bureaucrats in Song Dynasty highlighted distinct characteristics of the times.From the point of view of spouse selection,scholar-bureaucrats pay more attention to the new imperial examinations bureaucrats rather than the old ones.Influenced by the commodity economy,they tend to seek money directly when choosing spouses.From the view of marriage life,the scholar-bureaucrats in Song Dynasty further strengthened the concepts of respect for husbands and wives,subordination of housewives and extramarital wives,so as to consolidate the stability of family order and the harmony of social and national order under the patriarchal system.From the view of divorce and chastity,the scholar-bureaucrats in Song Dynasty hold a negative attitude towards divorce.The traditional view of divorce holds that husband and wife are "righteous and fit,but go without righteousness".while the scholar-bureaucrats in Song Dynasty hold that "no wife is allowed unless there is a big reason".Influenced by the commodity economy,scholar-bureaucrats in the Song Dynasty paid more attention to the reality of chastity and were more open-minded about women's remarriage.After the Song Dynasty established the country by Confucianism,it adopted the national strategy of "emphasizing literature and despising military force" and"governing the country with scholar-bureaucrats�.Therefore,a large number of scholar-bureaucrats became the backbone of the social and political structure because of the strategy of "advocating culture and restraining military force".The typical scholar-bureaucrat political form in Chinese history was finally established,and the Confucian intellectuals entered a brilliant prosperous era in Chinese history.The change of the ruler's strategy of governing the country and the unprecedented improvement of the scholar-bureaucrat's political status in Song Dynasty made the scholar-bureaucrat's concept change obviously.They had a strong sense of social responsibility and mission of the times.They gave full play to their role,disseminated the mainstream ideas of the state society,and made great contributions to stabilizing social order and safeguarding moral ethics.It is precisely because the scholar-bureaucrats are worried about the country and the people,they are practical and devoted to the real life problems with great enthusiasm.The scholar-officials in Song Dynasty also paid much attention to the marriage problem which was very important in social life.Their marriage concept represented the marriage concept of the middle and upper class at that time.Because of the particularity of the scholar-officials group,the dissemination of their concept was more extensive,universal,popular and influential.At the same time,it produced social,political,cultural and other aspects of Song Dynasty.Significant impact.Therefore,starting with the group research,this paper excavates the main characteristics and influence of the Song Dynasty scholar-bureaucrats'marriage concept,and provides reference for today's family harmony and social stability.This paper can be divided into five parts:Part One:The first chapter discussed the causes of the scholar-bureaucrat's marriage concept in Song Dynasty,and explored the social background of the scholar-bureaucrat's marriage concept in Song Dynasty from four aspects:social economy,political system,marriage system,ideology and culture.The marriage concept of scholar-bureaucrats in Song Dynasty is the product of the trend of thought of the times.Therefore,the study of the characteristics of the marriage concept of scholar-bureaucrats in Song Dynasty must be closely combined with the social environment at that time.In view of this,the first chapter of this paper briefly reviews the historical and cultural background of the formation of the concept of marriage of scholar-bureaucrats in the Song Dynasty.Part Two:The second chapter expounded the concept of marriage selection of scholars and bureaucrats in the Song Dynasty,from the family and the parties ' own conditions,the main forms of expression are the view of the door,the view of talent and the view of direct wealth.The diverse values of choosing a mate in the Song Dynasty were not only the concrete embodiment of social economy and cultural development,but also the inevitable trend of the development of marriage structure to a higher level in ancient China.Part Three:The third chapter analyzed the concept of marriage and life of the literati in the Song Dynasty,from the aspects of the space of husband and wife activity,the status of husband and wife,the maintenance time of husband and wife,and so on,can be classified as the concept of outside wives and housewives.During the revival of etiquette and the rise of Confucianism in the Song Dynasty,in the marriage life,the scholars of the Song Dynasty reaffirmed the classic monographs of etiquette,which led to the reconstruction of the etiquette building,the decline of the status.Part Four:This part expounded the dissolution of marriage relationship in Song Dynasty and the view of chastity of scholars at that time.Although the Southern Song Dynasty was the formative period of Confucianism,it did not immediately become the ruling thought of the state,and the literati had an enlightened attitude towards women's observance and remarriage.Part Five:This part analyzed the general evaluation and modern enlightenment of the concept of marriage of the literati and officials in the Song Dynasty.The concept and system of marriage in ancient times have deeply influenced the development of modern marriage culture.Only by maintaining scientific understanding and criticizing and inheriting the ancient marriage culture can we promote the continuous progress of modem marriage and realize harmonious marriage in a harmonious society.
