On Lukacs’ Class Consciousness Theory

The theory of class consciousness is an important part of the Marxism, resulting in a significant impact on revolutionary struggle of the proletariat and establishing a socialist society. In the history of Marxism ideology research, Western Marxist Lukacs occupies an important position. History and Class Consciousness is the greatest impact, causing the most controversial, therefore, the most important writings of Lukacs philosophical works. The purpose of the entire book is providing a correct theoretical guidance for the working class movement, in order to restore the significance of ideological forgotten by the second international leaders and distort the true philosophy of Marxism. This book contains a wealth of theoretical wealth, many ideas have had a significant impact on future generations. Which, the theory of class consciousness is the most influential, basically guidelines and promotes the European revolutionary movement of the proletariat after the Second International.Focused on the book History and Class Consciousness, Lukacs does not have a system devoting about class consciousness theory. Therefore, the core of this article is to elucidate Lukacs class consciousness theory, to explore the theory of class consciousness’ connotation and development process, to reveal the metaphysical foundation of building the theory of class consciousness, to clarify ontological significance of the theory of class consciousness. Simultaneously, with the current status quo, to analyze the influence and practical significance of the theory of class consciousness in the contemporary society.
