The rise of officialdom novels is a significant literaryphenomenon in Chinese literary circles since the1990s and it hasbeen the concern of academics. The study articles of theofficialdom novels has been published frequently in journals andwebsites.Wang Yuewen,as the best person to write officialdomnovels, and his writing have become a hot research academiabecause of his unique style of writing and writing perspective.Currently，the study of Wang Yuewen and his officialdomnovels roughly divided into three categories:the first is academiatake Wang Yuewen and his officialdom novels as a case to study allof officialdom novels;the second is in-depth study of the one aspectof Wang Yuewen’s officialdom novels;the third is to have a comparative study of Wang Yuewen with other officialdom fictionwriters.However, these studies almost all concentrated in threeareas that is powers、human nature and culture. This article willsummarize the results of academic research from this three areasand show the points of this article to identify the weak link of theresearch work,so,it can improve the academic research anddevelop new research space to enhance the level of awareness ofthe people of officialdom novels.This article has four main parts:The first chapter is we described the research about thedescription of power in Wang Yuewen’s officialdom novels fromthree angles,that is extramarital affairs、 authority seeking andunspoken rules. On this basis, this article explains some of thethinking.The second chapter is the article summarizes the status quoof research about the depictions of alienation of human nature inWang Yuewen’s officialdom novels from three angles.They are the study of intellectuals personality power of alienation、the study ofthe officialdom daily life and the study of officialdom moral identity,More importantly, the article raised some of their own views.The third chapter is the article summarizes the status quo ofresearch about the reflection of the bureaucratic culture in WangYuewen’s officialdom novels from three angles. Specifically,they arethe study of the cultural traditions about official position、the studyabout officialdom language culture squeezed humanity and thereseach about reflection of the intellectuals.The fourth chapter is the article analyzes the lack of WangYuewen’s officialdom novels’ research.It focuses on itsperformance、causes and Wang Yuewen’s officialdom novels i needto expand the new point of view in the later study.
