Human finally realized the importance of environmentalprotection after human encountered environmental crisis again andagain, so Environmental Aesthetics emerged. Although the rise ofEnvironmental Aesthetics has its social background, but thedevelopment and expansion of this discipline is the development ofthe discipline of aesthetics needs and trends, as well as aestheticparticular advantages in dealing with the environmental crisis.Environmental Aesthetics and Ecological Aesthetics scholars inresponse to the environmental crisis in the subject of aestheticswithin the aesthetic concepts, both of which emphasize theharmony between people and the natural environment, however theEcological Aesthetics emerged late in Environmental Aesthetics,environmental aesthetics as compared to subdiscipline of the earlyrise of an aesthetic, its research is of great significance.This thesis is divided into three parts-introduction, main partand conclusion part in the overall. The Introduction section includesthree meanings. First of all, the social background of the rise ofenvironmental aesthetics subject, and the aesthetics uniqueadvantages in dealing with the environmental crisis; Second,analysis of the relationship of environmental aesthetics andecological aesthetics, as well as grasping the core of environmental aesthetics; Finally, Allen Carlson as a representativefigure of the Environmental Aesthetics, it is of great value to studyhis environmental aesthetics thought.The main part of the paper is Carlson’s Environmental AestheticsThought, I divided it into three areas studied, the first aspect, thethinking of natural environment aesthetic, we study Carlson’smethod and attitude by summarizing and combing, at the same timeraise aesthetic principles of the natural environment; the secondaspect is related to the human environment aesthetic ideas, anddiscusses the aesthetic of the natural environment and humanenvironment aesthetic boundaries; the third aspect is the value ofthe Carlson environmental aesthetics thinking in contemporaryaesthetics, compare with Western aesthetics and Chineseaesthetics.We evaluate Carlson’s environmental aesthetics thought fromthe development of Contemporary Environmental Aesthetics in theconclusion part. Carlson environmental aesthetics has ansignificant impact on contemporary Western Aesthetics, WesternEnvironmental Aesthetics and Chinese Aesthetics, through theanalysis of the advantages and disadvantages of cognitive andnon-cognitive approach, Carlson think that we should joint thesetwo methods, and promote the development of ContemporaryEnvironmental Aesthetics.
