Since it has been started up in the sixties of twentieth century, Environmental Aesthetics is forming the discipline of study environmental aesthetic object, ways of Environmental aesthetic appreciation, theories of environmental aesthetic value, and theories of environmental design. In China, as a discipline environmental aesthetics is set up under the influence of environmental aesthetics in the West, however, the ideas are deeply embedded in ancient Chinese thought. Qin and Han Dynasties is an important period for establishing the Chinese spirit, and have achieved great development in the politics, economics, culture and other areas, and also created the first climax in Chinese garden history. On the one hand, emperors, Courtiers, and dignitaries wantonly built palaces and gardens. On the other hand, some of the rich businessmen spared no expense to the construction of private gardens. These palaces and gardens were generally grand and prosperous, built according to local conditions, and integrated the value of appreciation and economic value, so created a unique palace and garden feature. In the process of building palaces and gardens wantonly, and attaching importance to the environment, People gradually form some unique theories of Construction Aesthetics, Models of Environmental Aesthetic Appreciation and enhanced the understanding of the environmental Aesthetic Values, formed some unique environmental Aesthetics thoughts for Qin and Han Dynasties.This article attempts to discuss environmental aesthetic thoughts in Qin and Han Dynasties from the Construction Aesthetics, Models of Environmental Aesthetic Appreciation and theories of Environmental Aesthetic Value. This thesis is made up of three chapters. The first chapter would expound the environmental Construction Aesthetics in Qin and Han Dynasties. By sorting the two thoughts in the Qin and Han Dynasties, this article discussed the environmental Construction Aesthetics of palaces and gardens based on the thought of relationship of Nature and Man and God concept in Qin and Han Dynasties. Firstly, people continued to explore the relationship between Nature and Man. Under the influence of the thought of Heaven inducing human and the divinity of kings'rights according to Lu and Huainanzi as the representative, they often use the principle of modeling Heaven and Earth in the palace building. This has been reflected in the overall space layout, architectural formation and sculpture decoration. Secondly, the prevailed God concept, people's wandering in Wonderland and the pursuit of immortality in the Qin and Han Dynasties, also deeply affected the building of landscape in this period, created the first combination of one pool with three hills, and started the atmosphere of building tall Pavilions. The second chapter would expound the Models of Environmental Aesthetic Appreciation in Qin and Han Dynasties, present and analyze three models such as the complete and attentive Appreciation, flying thought to view widely, viewing up and down. With the deepening of Environmental Aesthetic Appreciation, people in Qin and Han Dynasties had come to realize the aesthetic values of the environment:dazzling the eyes and ears, to meet the needs of sensory pleasure and to relax the body, flying eyes and soul, to provide a free space for the heart. People can release the depression in the heart and get the spiritual enjoyment through aesthetic Appreciation of the environment. |
