There are differences in their ways of expressions between Chinese and English, so there are also obvious diversities in describing affirmative sentences or negative sentences. The English language has complex negative structures and various ways of negatives, such as full negatives, partial negatives, double negatives, etc. So when a negative sentence of English is translated into Chinese, sometimes it is translated into Chinese affirmative sentence; the affirmative sentence into Chinese negative sentence. Taking the source text and the target text of "Living Downstream" and "Green Habitat" as examples, the paper tries to research translation methods and skills of affirmative sentences and negative sentences of Chinese and English, in order to convey the original text meaning faithfully and correspond to the idiomatic expressions of the two languages, according to the author’s own translation practice.
