Vampires, rich in mysteries, have existed in folklores for a very long time. Since they became the characters in television series, movies and books, people have been fascinated by them. The early image of the vampire was purely the horrifying monster, but over the time, the features vampires carry changed. There are many researches on vampire works from different perspectives, and this study will focus on the television series True Blood from the perspective of the Other. True Blood was produced by Alan Ball, based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries, the series of novels by the New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris. The show is broadcast on the premium cable net work HBO in America, and has gained great success. Vampires and other creatures in the show reflect the life of the other, the marginalized people in society. It is hoped that this study will give inspirations to later researchers.
