Liheci (separation and reunion word)is a distinctive kind of words and expressions inChinese vocabulary, with the extraordinary characteristics of separation and reunion, which hasattracted great research attention of modern Chinese grammarians and become the hottest issuein Chinese teaching as a foreign language.Since the fifties of the last century, linguists in our country has began to notice theidiosyncratic phenomenon in Chinese, known as “Liheci(separation and reunion word)”. Withthe development in the past decades, both understanding and research have become deeper anddeeper, including the ontology research of Liheci, the pragmatic research, its relationship withChinese teaching as a foreign language and lexicography, use of Liheci in natural languageprocessing and machine translation etc.. Currently, it can be said that considerable achievementshave been achieved after various years of research, however, it is still a relatively weak area inresearch where problems and barriers still exist and teaching has not been completely satisfying.The most typical characteristic of this paper reflects in the investigation of three sets oftextbooks to help us get familiar with the current situations of teaching Chinese Liheci as aforeign language, analyze the existed problems for reference. With the deep research of this topic,more and more problems come to the exposition. But until the recent decade, has the researchersbegan to pay attention to the problems, take the lately textbooks for reference, and take thelearning phases (including primary, junior and senior high schools), and the popularization of theuse of such textbooks into consideration. Combined the above features, three sets of concretetextbooks are chosen as the research objects, mainly discussed from the concept’s bringingforward, definition, noting, and forms of phonetic notation and the sequences of its extensionusage. The analysis includes the following points:(1)The textbooks pay little attention to Liheci(separation and reunion word),even none, nordo they notice the existed problems;(2)No textbooks give definition to Liheci(separation and reunion word). Even if there aredefinitions, they are very subjective, and do not explain what Liheci(separation and reunion word)is.(3)No comprehensive usage of Liheci(separation and reunion word)is mentioned, with onlysimple summarization of it.(4)In light of its extension sequence, these three sets of textbooks make no planning and it is only a natural phenomenon.(5)In phonetic notation, no forms of parts of speech and separate writing of phones.The above exploration of concrete textbooks shares great significance to the compiling ofthe future textbooks, at the same time, reasonable suggestions are brought forward with the hopeof certain reference value for the future compiling of textbooks.In short, with the continuous development of the language, people will further deepen theresearch of Liheci(separation and reunion word),which is inevitable in the development ofmodern Chinese, and will exist for a long time to develop, so we should pay attention to thisspecial language phenomenon, further deepen the understanding of it to perfect the languagetheory...
