A Preliminary Study On Qin Xixuan’s Music Art

Qin Xixuan is a contemporary musician in the same period with Shen Yawei, Qu Xixian and SangTong since the foundation of People’s Republic of China. He accepted formal, systematic and professional music education and obtained great achievement when participating in various musical fields, like music creation, music translation, music criticism and music editing. Therefore it is fundamental to investigate this famous musician systematically and seriously, which will be an essential part in fulfilling modern musical history in China and benefit the cultivation of music talent.In music creation, lots of his works turned to be the mass songs,"Tank man and Tractor Driver", the opera "Against the aggressors" are chosen as repertoires by some singers and art troupes. His art songs such as "The wine of love","Hearing the pipe at Luo city in spring night" are of high artistic value. In music translation, he created "A brief introduction on composition skill","The application of Hindemith’s harmony theory","The perspective of music--the guide of comprehension and acting", which had a vital influence on music guiding and greatly expand the music population. In music criticism, he edited more than20works and published several criticism articles in People’s Music, which all have crucial academic values.After reorganization of these materials associating with Qin’s background, it is reasonable to get an objective and accurate comments on Qin’s musical art feature.
