| “Ernv Yingxiong Zhuan†is a well-known lengthy vernacular novel in the late QingDynasty, its language represents a transitional stage to Modern Chinese. This paper takes“Ernv Yingxiong Zhuan†as linguistic monograph data, will make a comprehensive analysisabout the question sentence in this monograph. By summarizing, describing andclassifying, I strive to reveal the characteristics of the samples. Based on the traditionalstandards, the question sentence will be divided into four kinds as the following: yes-noquestion sentence, specific interrogation, alternative interrogation and rhetorical sentence.Chapter one is the overview of the question sentence nature type and research, andbrief introduction of the monograph, also the summary of the research methods.Chapter two is about the yes-no question sentence. According to whether they havelanguage tag classified into two parts, marked ones (79.5%) are far more than theunmarked (20.5%). And further describes the marked ones in three subcategories, thosesentences are mainly marked with modal particle at the end (72.8%), only some marked byinterrogative adverb (7.9%).Chapter three is about the specific interrogation. The sentences are basiclly marked inthe form of language (99.7%), and I divided the marked ones into four subcategories. Theyare as the following: the interrogative pronouns mark (94.6%), the doubt numeral mark(2.7%), the interrogative modal particle mark (2.2%) and learned Chinese mark (0.4%).Obviously, the interrogative pronouns mark is the most important language mark inspecific interrogation.Chapter four is about the alternative interrogation. I divided them into two subsections:paralleling sentence (17.8%) and A-not-A sentence (82.2%). Most of the alternativequestions (75%) are marked by related words, only a small proportion (25%) is by tone. Asfor the A-not-A sentence, the most important form tag is “Vp not Vpâ€(58.1%), then the“ke(å¯)†mark (31.1%), the “meiyou(没有)â€mark (6.8%),“buceng(䏿›¾)†mark (4.1%)isthe least one.Chapter five is about the rhetorical sentence. Most of them have language tag (93.3%),only6.7%by the tone. According to the type of mark, I divided them into interrogative pronouns mark (39.7%), interrogative adverbs mark (38.7%), the interrogative modalparticle mark (17.5%), the doubt numeral mark (0.8%) and those in the form of alternativeinterrogation (3.2%), in order to further description. |
